MassDOT Highway Division Issues 2025 Construction Standard Details
MassDOT Highway Division released a new set of Construction Standard Details for use on projects advertised after March 22, 2025.
These Standard Details are published as individual drawings, each with an initial “version” date of January 2025. In the future, drawings may be added, modified or retired, without having to reissue the entire publication. Superseded drawings will be retained for reference and for continued use on certain contracts, as required by the contract terms.
The Construction Contracts Office will ensure that the latest version of the Construction Standard Details are referenced in contracts for projects advertised after March 22, 2025. Designers should also be aware of this requirement and shall prepare their design documents appropriately, which includes citing the most current editions of all reference documents and using the most current AutoCAD templates, most notably the Plan Title Sheet template.

MassDOT CAD Standards Update:
Due to Engineering Directive E-25-002, changes have been made to the MassDOT Title Plan sheets. The change consists of a modification to the specifications note which refers to the Construction Standard Details.

The MassDOT CAD Standards release 5.1.2 containing these updates will be available on the website soon.
Please note that the updated Specifications Note contained in the above Title Sheets must be used on projects advertised or issued a Highway Access Permit after March 22, 2025.
You may edit the Specifications Note manually for your current projects rather than inserting a new Title Sheet if that is easier. The specifications note should look like this:
