The MassDOT Highway Division has issued the 2026 Edition of the Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges and a series of updated Construction Standard Detail Drawings dated January 2026.
The 2026 edition of the Standard Specifications combines the previous (2025) edition with all supplemental specifications issued by MassDOT during 2025. The 2026 edition also includes a companion document that provides a full accounting of the changes to the previous (2025) edition.
The January 2026 changes to the Construction Standard Details are summarized in a Change Log that provides information about each drawing issued or revised in January 2026. Please note that all superseded drawings are retained permanently on the Construction Standard Details web page for future reference.
The 2026 Edition of the Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges and the January 2026 Construction Standard Detail Drawings will be referenced in the contract documents for all projects advertised on or after February 21, 2026. No changes are required for any projects already advertised or under construction.
