Kevin O’Shea Named Incoming Executive Director of ACEC/MA
The American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts (ACEC/MA) is pleased to announced that Kevin O’Shea has been selected as its next Executive Director, succeeding longtime leader Abbie Goodman following a transition period.
ACEC/MA is the business association representing the owners and principals of more than 120 engineering, land surveying, and affiliated firms across the Commonwealth. The organization advocates for the business interests of the engineering community, promotes infrastructure investment and sound public policy, and provides professional development and collaboration opportunities for firms that design Massachusetts’ roads, bridges, water systems, buildings, energy infrastructure, and other critical public and private facilities.
O’Shea brings a wealth of experience in government and the energy sector to the role. Most recently, he served as Director of Government Affairs for New England at National Grid, where he led the company’s advocacy related to clean energy, climate resilience, and grid modernization in the region. Previously, he held several positions within the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, working on energy policy, climate programs, and environmental conservation. He began his career in Washington, D.C., in the U.S. Senate as a legislative aide.
In addition to his professional experience, O’Shea serves on the Stewardship Council for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and on the Board and Executive Committee of Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, a leading coastal advocacy and youth programming organization. He holds degrees from Loyola University Maryland (BA) and Boston College (MBA).
“On behalf of our ACEC/MA Member Firms, I am delighted to welcome Kevin O’Shea to our team. His experience and leadership will be valuable assets as we continue to provide excellent service for our members and our industry partners.”
—- George (Gerry) Preble, PE, ACEC/MA FY2026 President
“I am thrilled to welcome Kevin O’Shea to the ACEC/MA community of engineering, land surveying and related firms. He brings great experience from both the private and public sector that will help ACEC/MA grow and reach new heights together with our member firms.”
—- Abbie Goodman, ACEC/MA Executive Director
“I am honored to join ACEC/MA and build on the organization’s strong legacy of leadership under Abbie Goodman,” said O’Shea. “The work of our member firms is essential to Massachusetts’ future, designing the infrastructure, energy systems, and communities that make the Commonwealth a great place to live and work. I look forward to partnering with the board, members, and staff to continue advancing that mission.”
