This page is updated for the FY2021 Odyssey Leadership Course that Starts on September 23, 2020.
Effective September 1, 2020: Eligible Massachusetts businesses of any size may apply for training grants through the Commonwealth Corporation's Workforce Training Fund’s Express Program. The Express Program offers cash grants to businesses to cover up to 50% of the cost of training employees, up to $3,000 per employee per course. Additional limitations apply. (The Express Program was previously only available to small businesses w/ 100 or fewer employees.) The Express Program assists companies by helping to address their employee training needs through a list of pre-registered courses. Companies must pay into the Workforce Training Fund to be eligible to apply for grant funds. Eligible employers complete a short, on-line application to request grant funds for pre-registered training courses.
Grant funds are limited to $3,000 per employee per course and $30,000 per company per calendar year. A company whose request has been approved will be reimbursed for up to 50% of the actual cost of training. Courses (such as OSHA) that a company is legally mandated to provide to its employees are not eligible for reimbursement under this grant program. You may only request reimbursement for training individuals who are on your company’s payroll and work in Massachusetts.
