Program Committee

The Program Committee plans approximately 10 programs per year (breakfast meetings, dinner meetings, half-day conferences, etc.) on topics current and pertinent to the engineering community. An important goal of the committee is to create convenient, relevant, and valuable programs for the ACEC/MA membership. The Program Committee also has a significant responsibility in fiscally supporting the ACEC/MA organization and each year is expected to meet the Program Revenue & Sponsorship targets set in the ACEC/MA annual budget. Each December, the committee publishes the event calendar for the following calendar year as part of the solicitation of annual program sponsors.
 
Structure
The Program Committee has two co-chairs who share responsibility in leading the committee meetings, preparing agendas, and reporting to the Operation Group Chairs. The committee secretary takes and prepares all monthly meeting minutes with review of the draft documents by the co-chairs and final approval by committee members through an acceptance vote (in full or as noted) at the beginning of the next committee meeting. The Program Committee is also assigned a liaison to the Board of Directors to aide in communications between the committee and the Board.  Each of the 10 programs is championed by a volunteer Event Chair from within the committee. The Event Chair, with support and assistance from the rest of the committee members, becomes the lead contact for all planning and coordination of efforts of their event including: guest speaker contact and commitments, final topic selection, registration flyer and presentation content, venue choice, as well as working closely with The Engineering Center staff to confirm event budget and venue logistics. All committee members are volunteer representatives from ACEC/MA member firms.  Additional participants from member firms are always welcome.
