MA Building Code Update: Amendment 101.5.1 retracted

Amendment 101.5.1 retracted BBRS Action taken on 4/12/2011 Based on arguments from the private sector that simple commercial building reroofing jobs are being complicated by the seismic and/or wind upgrade requirements of the MA-amended IEBC-2009, the Board of Building Regulations and Standards (BBRS) voted on April 12, 2011 to retract emergency amendment 101.5.1. As a result the prescriptive compliance path of 2009 IEBC is available as an option for work in all existing buildings under the 8th edition of the Massachusetts State Building Code.
